Visual Fatigue

Did you know close range vision, like staring at your screen drawing, or even reading a book is more taxing on your eyes than distance vision? Though your eyes don’t necessarily hurt after a long bout in front of your laptop, the muscles of the eyes begin to fatigue and can lead to temporarily blurred vision, eye twitches and headaches. Once visual fatigue kicks in, the posture often falls apart to compensate.

The good news, it’s big beautiful world out there, plenty of things to see out your window. Think of taking

Solution, the 20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes step away from your screen and let your eyes focus on an object or landscape at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
